Who We Are

Sherilyn earned her Master of Science from Boston University and Bachelor of Science from Seton Hall University. Sherilyn is licensed to practice in New Jersey and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), in addition to being a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Sherilyn has experience across the lifespan and care continuum including hospitals, an intensive cognitive-communication rehabilitation program, skilled nursing facility, independent/assisted living, memory care, outpatient in the home, and schools. Sherilyn completed observational placements at Boston Children’s Hospital and through the Health Career Opportunity Program at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center, where she gained valuable knowledge for treating patients with brain injury, cancer, genetic disorders and others.

Sherilyn has worked with clients recovering after acquired brain injury and cancer, and those with degenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s, primary progressive aphasia, dementia and ALS. She has experience with adult clients with aphasia, and disorders of voice, fluency, swallowing, motor speech, and cognitive-communication. Sherilyn enjoys conducting therapy in both group and individual settings and believes speech therapy should be functional and supportive of individualized goals and needs. She has worked with children of all ages to improve communication and language skills, utilizing play-based therapy techniques, structured activities and mindfulness to support their goals. She enjoys providing education and support to parents and caregivers, as well as collaborating with other professionals.

Sherilyn is certified in SPEAK OUT! through The Parkinson’s Voice Project and Lee Silverman Voice Technique (LSVT) through LSVT Global. She has completed the Langmore FEES Course, held at Boston Medical Center, and is certified in the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP) through the Florida Dysphagia Institute. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
